MADC on "Sly in the Morning"

MADC Spring Kick-Off

04/23/2010 - "The Madison Area Disc Club's Spring Kick-Off will be held Sunday, May 2nd, at Hiestand Park Disc Golf Course. Random Draw Doubles registration is at Glide from 9am to 10am. Cost is $5. You must be an MADC member to participate."

MADC monthly club meeting

04/23/2010 - "The Madison Area Disc Club's next monthly meeting of 2010 will be on Tuesday, April 27th, at 7:00pm at the Glide Disc Golf Pro Shop. (across from Hiestand) 4222 Milwaukee Street Madison, WI 53714."

All Madison Courses are Open

04/23/2010 - "All Madison courses are now open. Please remember dogs and glass bottles are NOT allowed in Hiestand or Elver. Check for updates on the MADC Forum."

Hiestand Park closed

03/06/2010 - "Hiestand Park is closed. All of the baskets were pulled on Friday, March 5th. The course will reopen around May 1st weather pending. Elver and Token Creek will also reopen around May 1st (again, weather pending). In the meantime, it is extremely important that everyone stay off the course. The courses in Stoughton, Waterloo, Prairie du Sac, Watertown and Beaver Dam are open. Thanks for your cooperation. Also, there are temporary courses being set up weekly in Madison. We look forward to seeing everyone out on the courses in May."

MADC monthly club meeting

1st club meeting of 2010

01/09/2010 - "The Madison Area Disc Club's first meeting of 2010 will be on Saturday, January 23rd at 10:00 a.m. at the Madison Public Library - Sequoya Branch. We will be in meeting room B which is located to the left once you've entered the library from the parking lot. Club meetings are open to the public and anyone interested is encouraged to attend."

The polls for the 2009 Madison Area Disc Club's Annual Election have closed. On behalf of Garrett Lee (Treasurer) and myself (President), I would like to congratulate and welcome your new board members: Nic Lelm - Vice President, Brad Wendt - Secretary, Seth Johnson - At-Large Board Member, Ron James - At-Large Board Member and Brent Baartman - At-Large Board Member.

Where can I play?

12/16/2009 - Token Creek and Elver are closed for the season. Hiestand is open. Token and Elver will re-open in May, 2010.

Madison Area Disc Club Fall Picnic, Sunday, October 11th

10/01/09 - MADC announces the Fall Picnic will be held @ Elver Park, on Sunday, October 11th. Stay tuned for more details.

Madison Courses will be closed the weekend of Saturday, August 8th for the Mad City Open tournament

8/1/09 - All Madison courses will be closed on Saturday, August 8th for the Mad City Open. Hiestand and Token Creek will be closed Sunday, August 8th.

If you still want to play, Stoughton, Baraboo, Beaver Dam, Janesville, Waterloo, Watertown and the Milwaukee courses will be available.

Or, better yet, register and play in the Mad City Open. If you don't want to play, you can still sign up to be volunteer. Volunteers get a nice package for helping out.

And, not to mention, on Sunday, you will have an opportunity to watch some of the best disc golfers play, at Token Creek. No charge. Find out more about the Mad City Open at Mad City Open website

Elver Park Disc Golf Course Work Days

7/9/09 - On July 18th and 19th from 9:00 A.M.- 1:00 P.M. the Madison Area Disc Club will be continuing to work on the Elver Park Renovation Projects.

Jobs will include:

• Moving Crushed Limestone
• Weed Whacking
• Brush Removal
• Stump Removal

Some tools will be provided , 2 wheel barrels, 6 shovels and 2 loppers but if you have a truck or other tools please you think maybe helpful contact Brad Wendt

The goal is to have all current projects completed by 1:00 P.M. on July 19th. Please stop on out and give us a hand in improving the disc golf scene here in Madison

Women's Night starting

The women's league will be at the Elver Park Disc Golf Course on Monday Nights.

Starting date will be Monday, June 15, 2009

Starting time will be early evening at 5:30pm. Meet by the practice basket.

A women's clinic will run 1 or 2 (if we get enough participants) Mondays a month before league. If you or anyone you know is interested and we don't already have yours or their email address, send it to; IdRatherBDiscn33@yahoo.com

Next MADC Club Meeting, July 2nd

This is an opportunity for members and non-members to find out what is happening with Disc Golf, in Madison. Location to be determined.

MADC Spring Kick Off Event

5/8/09 - On Sunday, May 10th (Mother's Day) at 10:15 at Hiestand Park the Madison Area Disc Club will be hosting its Spring Kickk Off Event with a round of random draw doubles to help distribute the 2009 MADC Bag Tags

Cost will be $5 per person (includes $1 for an ace pool) 100% cash payout (ace pool will go to the MADC Club Course Fund if one isn't hit)The 1st place team will get bag tags 1 and 2 (decide among yourselves or coin flip) 2nd place gets tags 3 and 4, etc.

The focus is on fun. This is nothing more than a simple round of random draw doubles as a means of 2009 MADC Bag Tag distribution. You can stop on by to join or renew your MADC membership at this event. Register at Glide. The shop opens at 10:00. We'll draw for partners at 10:15.

Elver Park Workday a Success

3/23/09 - The Madison Area Disc Club would like to thank Michel, Dave, Robbie, Ben, and T.J. for coming out yesterday and helping get the Elver Park Disc Golf Course cleaned up for the upcoming season.
